CHURCHES TOGETHER YOUTH TRUST

Dec/Jan

Hello and a Happy New Year to you all. Beth and myself would just like to say a massive Thank-You to everyone who has supported us through prayer and financial giving to the trust, and also just making us feel welcome as we have started our new post. We have settled in well.

We have now successfully launched a weekly lunch time club in Cartmel Priory School which has been named VISION. The numbers have varied, however we do have some regular attendees which is good. We have also been providing regular assemblies at Cartmel, and we value the opportunity to reach the whole school in year group assemblies. Relationship with the teachers are good and we look forward to all 2012 has for us, please see overleaf for projects we hope will go ahead.

We held our first out of school event in December in the form of A ‘Christmas Extravaganza’ this was at the URC Hall in Grange and it was a good turnout of youth and a fun filled evening of games, quizzes and laughter. We wanted the opportunity to meet the youth and serve them with our love for Christ, so we decided to do this with a 2 course meal, which went down well.. At this point we would like to say Thank you to all those who helped in the kitchen, the evening wouldn't have been able to go ahead without you.

We have now also visited and been active in all the local primary schools and we hope to keep up the relationship with these schools especially year 5 & 6 ready for the cross over in to secondary school. We have delivered some RE lessons, assemblies and this week coming we will be providing our first ’True Beauty’ workshop to the Schools. We would just like to fill you in on what this particular lesson consists of as we will be offering it to all schools and age ranges, with the lesson adapted to who will be receiving the content. It is a lesson which is focused on building each child’s individual self esteem, helping them to believe they are beautiful and in the eyes of God they are created to be just who they are. It covers issues such as judgment, discrimination, popularity, celebrities, beauty, and understanding how God’s love will help them excel in their gifting. We have also visited some churches, met with the congregation, children and youth. However if you haven't met us yet and would like to, please don’t hesitate to get in touch as we would love to come and share with you.

Until next time............

Beth & Tamar
